The AFC West arms race has become the biggest story of the NFL’s offseason. The Broncos traded for Russell Wilson. The Chargers signed JC Jackson. The Raiders traded for Davante Adams yesterday. The football world was just waiting to see what the Kansas City Chiefs would do to keep up. We now have out answer.
Juju Smith-Schuster revealed on his Twitter today that he will be joining the Kansas City Chiefs.

Field Yates later reported it would be a one-year deal for JJSS.

Shortly after Smith-Schuster’s announcement, his new quarterback took to Twitter to express his excitement at the Chiefs adding another weapon to the offense.

There is plenty of reason for both of these men to be excited about the move. For Patrick Mahomes, he gets another dangerous player to throw the ball to as the Chiefs try to keep pace in their division. A receiving corps of Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Smith-Schuster just might be the best in the league.
For Smith-Schuster, he’ll get the best quarterback play he’s ever had in his career. After years of playing with a declining Ben Roethlisberger and dealing with one of the league’s worst offenses for the last couple of years, Juju gets a big upgrade.
This one-year deal gives Smith-Schuster the chance to earn himself a big contract after a season where he’ll have plenty of opportunities to impress.
The AFC West just keeps getting scarier and scarier for anybody who will have to compete against this division’s teams.
