In a bid to revitalize his career, Ezekiel Elliott has dropped 15 pounds heading to the 2023 season, according to FOX Sports’ Peter Schrager.

The 28-year-old running back signed with the New England Patriots this offseason and has undergone a body transformation in hopes to return to his previous top form.

Elliott’s journey to New England comes after being cut by the Dallas Cowboys, where he once flourished as a premier running back.

Listed  at 6’0 and weighing in at 228 pounds, Elliott’s weight loss appears to be a strategic move to recapture the agility and speed that defined his earlier years in the league.

During his prime, Elliott amassed an impressive 4,048 rushing yards and maintained an average of 4.7 yards per carry over his first three seasons. However, his performance took a hit over time and by the 2022 season last year, he managed only 876 yards on a lackluster 3.8 yards per carry.

Elliott’s decision to sign a one-year contract with the Patriots, valued at up to $6 million, signals his determination to showcase his abilities and potentially secure a more lucrative deal in the next offseason.
