The Patriots are being ridiculed online thanks to a hilarious promo flashed on Thursday Night Football. Looking to preview New England’s upcoming matchup with the Steelers, it seems Amazon couldn’t find a player worthy of representing the team.
Instead, they just threw Bill Belichick on the graphic which resulted in an immediate reaction from NFL fans.
In their defense, there haven’t been very many contributors on that New England squad. The Patriots are 2-9 and well out of any postseason race.
Mac Jones has struggled, throwing more picks than touchdowns while his receiving corps lacks star power. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson has been solid, though he’s failed to top the 50-yard mark in seven of his last eight contests.
With no one immediately sticking out, Amazon decided to go with the most recognizable man on the sidelines – Bill Belichick.

Social media erupted with response.
“Patriots have no talent so they had to put Bill Belichick on the graphic.'”
“Just throw Belichick up there.”
“Amazon had no idea which Patriots player to feature on the promo for next week… so they just put Bill Belichick.”
“Everyone doesn’t know it yet but, looks like the script has Bill Belichick starting at QB for the Patriots next week.”
Making things even odder, they put him next to edge rusher TJ Watt. It made for an even funnier image.
The Patriots will look to grab their third win of the year on Sunday when they take on the Chargers. They’ll then face Pittsburgh next Thursday night.
Hopefully, someone other than Belichick shows up.
