Lonzo Ball and JJ Redick could be on the move yet again as the Pelicans are reportedly open to moving the two guards. According to The Athletic, New Orleans has been taking calls about potentially dealing Ball and Redick.

The Pelicans are off to a rough 5-10 start to the season and if they do elect to trade both Redick and Ball it could serve as an opportunity for a fresh start while allowing both Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Kira Lewis to pick up more minutes on the floor.

New Orleans has been receiving calls about the availability of Lonzo Ball and JJ Redick and has shown an openness to discussing trades around both with interested teams, sources tell The Athletic. A move would create a clearer pathway for young guards Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Kira Lewis in the Pelicans’ rotation.

In just his fourth season in the league, this would mark the second time Ball has been traded since being drafted second overall by the Lakers in 2017. The 36-year-old Redick already owns the title of NBA journeyman having already played for five different NBA teams throughout his career.

Both Ball and Redick would garner interest from many teams around the league. Redick would likely be looking to be dealt to a true contender while Ball could simply welcome a change of scenery.

Ball is averaging 12 points and 4.7 assists this season while playing just shy of 32 minutes a night. Redick is averaging eight points per game averaging just over 20 minutes per contest to go along with a three-point shooting percentage of 30%.
