Pepperdine took on Portland in a college basketball game on Saturday night. Usually, they don’t make many headlines but this finish was absolutely bonkers.

Down by three with just 8.4 seconds left on the clock, Pepperdine and Portland played in what might be one of the craziest endings to a college basketball game ever.

Pickswise shares the video of the closing seconds of the matchup. This is the type of ending you’d expect to see in a movie.

Every time you think it’s over the Waves just continue to get another chance. This felt like a well-scripted basketball film.

From the and-one, technical fouls, and missed free throws, to the final shot with just six-tenths of a second left on the clock, this has to be one of the craziest endings to a basketball game ever.

Portland definitely should have won that game but they continuously gave Pepperdine chances to stay in the contest.

This is just another example of how unpredictable NCAA basketball really is. There doesn’t seem to be a clear-cut favorite in any matchup as it feels like every game comes down to the wire like this.

After earning a win like that, we just hope to see Pepperdine make the tournament. Could you imagine if the Waves knocked off a top seed with a finish like that?

That’s probably just a wish though, as the Waves are ranked dead last in their conference. Oh well, at least they have this bonkers finish to celebrate.
