Philadelphia sports fans, specifically Eagles fans, are some of the best fans in sports. Anyone who has ever been to a game, either at the now-demolished Veterans Stadium or at Lincoln Financial Field, will tell you that.

And, they have a lot to cheer about right now. Yes, the team came up just three points short of the Kansas City Chiefs in February’s Super Bow LVII, but this team is loaded.

Third-year head coach Nick Sirianni was excellent in his second-year with the team, as he turned Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts into one of the most dangerous players in the league. The dual-threat product out of Alabama and Oklahoma meshed perfectly with Sirianni’s run scheme, as the Eagles had one of the most efficient offenses in the league.

It helps to have a great offensive line, and the Eagles may have the best. Right tackle Lane Johnson and center Jason Kelce are probably the best players at their respective positions. Guard Landon Dickerson and tackle Jordan Mailata are also Pro Bowl-level players. And, rookie Tyler Steen out of Alabama is expected to be a competent player right away.

Weapons like 2020 Heisman Trophy Winner DeVonta Smith, AJ Brown, and Dallas Goedert highlight the weapons in the pass game, while new acquisition and Philadelphia native D’Andre Swift looks ready to break out as part of a running backs room that also includes Kenneth Gainwell, Rashaad Penny, and Boston Scott.

There are stars all over the place on defense. Pass rushers Hassan Reddick, Josh Sweat, rookie Nolan Smith, and Brandon Graham are supported up front by what is likely the best defensive tackle group in the game in Fletcher Cox, and back-to-back first round picks out of Georgia, Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter. Coupled with one of the best corner duos in the league in Darius Slay and James Bradberry, and you’ve got a loaded team that are likely the favorites to win the NFC again.

So, it makes sense that at their annual open practice at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia Eagles fans packed the stadium. Take a look.

That’s a very impressive showing. There were more fans there than there will be for some NFL regular season games.

The Philadelphia Eagles open up the preseason against the Ravens on August 12, and have their regular season debut on the road in New England on September 10.
