Yesterday, there was a report that the Philadelphia Eagles were looking to trade into the pick 6-8 range to draft former Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter tomorrow.
Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that will actually be a possibility for them because Jalen Carter is currently the favorite to be selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the draft’s 5th pick.
Now it appears they may be looking elsewhere for a lineman they want to trade up for that played in the 2022 College Football Playoff.
According to NFL Network’s James Palmer, the Philadelphia Eagles really like former Ohio State offensive lineman Paris Johnson and have been making calls about trading up from pick 10, although Palmer says it may not be specifically to draft Johnson.
The #eagles really like Ohio State LT Paris Johnson and they’re not alone. And a few of those teams are ahead of Philly. Not sure if they’re about Johnson specifically, but Howie Roseman has made calls about moving up I’m told. My report on NFL NOW on @nflnetwork pic.twitter.com/pk4d58Eoo1

The Eagles might not have any better luck moving up for Johnson than they would up for Carter.
While Carter is currently projected to be drafted 5th overall by the Seahawks, there are currently rumors that Johnson could be taken 3rd overall by the Cardinals to finally give Kyler Murray some protection after years of bad O-line play.
Tackle also isn’t an immediate need for the Eagles. They already feature Jordan Mailata on the left and Lane Johnson on the right. Both have been studs for them.
Paris Johnson could be the answer to replacing Johnson in the future as he will turn 33 years old in a couple of weeks.
Whoever it is that the Eagles ares actually interested in taking with their first pick in this draft, it is clear that they are ready to deal to make sure they get their guy.
