The Phoenix Suns have a lot of money invested in their starting lineup for next season.

Kevin Durant’s cap hit will be over $47 million.

Bradley Beals’s will be around 46.

Devin Booker comes at a bit of a discount at $36 million and Deandre Ayton will cost over $32 million.

Last season, the Suns were in the same situation and it ended up leaving them with little depth on their roster. That lack of depth was on full display against the Nuggets in the NBA Playoffs, especially after Chris Paul was injured.

This offseason, they’ve been doing a good job trying to avoid repeating those depth issues.

So far, they’ve picked up Eric Gordon, Drew Eubanks, Keita Bates-Diop, Yuta Watanabe, Jordan Goodwin, and Chimezie Metu to round out their roster.

Now it looks like they could add another interesting piece to come off of their bench.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Suns are currently the frontrunners to sign former Orlando Magic big man Bol Bol.

Bol was once projected to be a top draft pick after a dominant start to his college career at Oregon, but a foot injury ended his lone college season and tanked his draft stock.

He ended up being selected in the middle of round 2 by the Nuggets and took some time to really establish himself in the league.

He finally found his place last season with the Orlando Magic in his 4th NBA season.

He was an important piece of the Magic rotation, scoring 9.1 points and grabbing 5.8 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game.

if he heads to the Suns, he’ll give them a solid post presence off the bench and help reinforce their front court.

The Phoenix Suns have definitely learned from their shortcomings last season and are putting together a very strong roster to try and bring home their first ring.
