Fans of the Pistons haven’t had a ton to root for over the past few years, and one supporter who decided to give GM Troy Weaver a piece of his mind was treated to an early exit after drawing his ire in a big way.

The Detroit Pistons have made the playoffs on just two occasions since an eight-year postseason streak came to an end in 2010, and both of those appearances resulted in them being eliminated after getting swept in the first round.

That disappointing stretch has been defined by a revolving door of head coaches in addition to plenty of turnover when it comes to the General Manager position, which has been held by Troy Weaver since he accepted the role prior to the start of the 2020-21 campaign.

The Pistons had posted a 60-176 record under Weaver’s watch heading into the current season, and they haven’t exactly inspired a ton of coincidence over the course of a year where they’re sitting at 10-53 thanks in no small part to a 28-game losing streak.

On Saturday, the Pistons suffered yet another loss at the hands of the Mavericks during a 142-124 blowout at Little Caesars Arena.

That didn’t sit well with one member of the home crowd who decided to let Weaver know his tenure has left a lot to be desired, which sparkled a testy exchange where the GM said “You’re lucky I don’t beat your a–” before directing security to eject him after the fan remarked, “You suck at your job.”

The Detroit News reports the fan had already approached Weaver toward the beginning of the game and decided to hit him with that impromptu performance review shortly after  Jalen Duren was ejected in the fourth quarter.

It’s kind of hard to blame Weaver for flexing his muscle while he still can, as it’s a bit hard to imagine he’ll be in the same role when next season rolls around.
