In the immortal words of Walter Sobchak from The Big Lebowski, “this is not ‘Nam. this is poker. There are rules.” Sure, Walter was talking about bowling and not poker but the same sentiment applies and I’m actually shocked that none of the other poker players at this final table told the guy who lost his cool that he was “entering a world of pain.”
There aren’t a ton of details surrounding this video below. But according to PokerNews (tweet/video below), this was the final table of the Japan Gold Dragon poker tournament in Osaka, Japan last weekend. What we see is a guy who has gone on tilt and completely crossed the line flip the table and break it in anger. This sends every player’s chips flying into the air and into one jumbled pot. Hopefully, the current chip stacks were recorded and accurate.
There are also drinks flying, pissed-off players, and general chaos. The incident occurred at a nine-handed final table on day 2 of the tournament just a handful of minutes into the final table starting. When the guy realizes he’s unable to flip the table he’s then content with breaking it in anger.

It’s not clear what this guy’s gripe was with the tournament. Someone on Twitter claimed he wasn’t a player in the tournament which I have trouble believing. And the tournament’s director said no further details would be shared from the organizer about the nature of the freakout.
Don’t be that guy…
It goes without saying that this is so far past the line that should never be crossed. Phil Hellmuth is a showman but also the greatest poker player in tournament history. His strings of f-bombs after a bad beat are entertaining.
Flipping the final table and ruining everyone’s chip stacks because you’re salty is completely unacceptable and when money is involved there should definitely be some sort of punishment imposed keeping a player away from the table for a while after an incident like this.
I definitely disagree with this take, the offender needs to be put in timeout and doesn’t deserve a pass.
This is the "one time " every player should be granted after ten thousand live hands.

Phil Hellmuth would never do this!
One BB penalty and the organizer would apologize while he complained about the delay..

I doubt we’ll learn more about this poker incident in the coming days but if we do I’ll circle back here and update the post with some more details.
