Every year, the annual clash between Penn State and Ohio State is one of the most anticipated matchups of the year. And, tomorrow, the two historic powers will clash once again, as the #3 Buckeyes host #7 Penn State in what may be the biggest game of the college football season to date.

Ohio State has dominated the series as of late, with their last loss coming in 2016 in a dramatic game at Beaver Stadium. But, this is probably the most even that the on-field talent has been in the serious in over two decades.

The Buckeyes are still loaded, there’s no doubt about it. Marvin Harrison Jr., son of NFL Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, steals the headlines, as he should. The projected top-five overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft is as good as any receiver prospect in recent memory. After a 1,200 yard season last year, he has over 600 yards through the first six games of the season. Kyle McCord does a solid job at quarterback as well, but a huge downgrade in offensive line play compared to previous years has given the offense much less time to operate.

The Buckeye defense is much better than it has been in past years, and JT Tuimalao terrorized Penn State last year with two sacks and two interceptions, including a pick-six.

But, the Nittany Lions are loaded, especially on defense. The nation’s top total defense and number two scoring defense is loaded with stars at every level, like defensive end Chop Robinson, linebacker Abdul Carter, and cornerback Kalen King. The offensive has not been explosive to date, but former five-star quarterback and current Sophomore Drew Allar has yet to turn the ball over this season, and it’s an offense that has shown the ability to go on long drives against top defenses like Iowa.

Enough about the teams, though. It’s a must-win game for Penn State and James Franklin as they look to shed the notion that they are an afterthought in the Big Ten. And, they put out an awesome hype video less than 24 hours from kickoff. Take a look.

As for me, I just hope both teams have fun.
