Controversial ‘QB Draft’ By NFL Network Analysts Leaves Some Fans Asking Questions

Who are the best quarterbacks in the NFL today?

Which quarterbacks would you want on your team to start the 2023 NFL season?

These are the questions that Good Morning Football analysts Sara Walsh, Shaun O’Hara, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero tried to answer on Friday.

The quartet took part in a mock quarterback draft during Friday’s episode. Each analyst made three picks, with Walsh picking first, Pelissero picking last, and the draft snaking around for the second and third rounds.

The picks were fast and easy at first. Walsh took Super Bowl MVP and Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes at No. 1

O’Hara then followed up with Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen, before Garafolo took Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Pelissero closed the first round with Philadelphia Eagles signal caller Jalen Hurts.

But that’s when things began to get interesting. Pelissero began round two by taking Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. Which wasn’t overly surprising.

Garafolo, however, then shook things up a bit by selecting the newest of New York Jets stars, Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers may be a four-time NFL MVP, but he’ll be 40 years old early in the 2023 season and struggled mightily in 2022.

O’Hara then made an even more shocking pick with Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott. Prescott led the league in interceptions a year ago.

Walsh then made her last two picks with Trevor Lawrence and Lamar Jackson. That brought it back around to O’Hara, who again surprised fans by selecting Kirk Cousins before Garafolo went way out in left field with Justin Fields.

That allowed Pelissero to finish his draft with Deshaun Watson.

Fans on Twitter had plenty to say about the teams.

What say you? Walsh appears to be the consensus winner among fans. But is O’Hara as bad as they claim? Who got snubbed and who went too high?

Only time will tell.
