With Carson Wentz being traded to the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, there now is not a single quarterback that was drafted in the first round between 2009 and 2016 that is still with his original team.

That’s 22 quarterbacks drafted in round one of the NFL Draft over eight years.

Let’s take a peek at who these quarterbacks are that so many teams thought would be the face of their franchise for years and years to come. (Statistics are from each quarterback’s time with the team that drafted him.)

Matthew Stafford – Lions: 45,109 yards, 282 TD, 144 INT
Mark Sanchez – Jets: 12,092 yards, 68 TD, 69 INT
Josh Freeman – Bucs: 13,534 yards, 80 TD, 66 INT
Sam Bradford – Rams: 11,065 yards, 59 TD, 38 INT
Tim Tebow – Broncos: 2,383 yards, 17 TD, 9 INT
Cam Newton – Panthers: 29,041 yards, 182 TD, 108 INT
Jake Locker – Titans: 4,967 yards, 27 TD, 22 INT
Blaine Gabbert – Jaguars: 4,357 yards, 22 TD, 24 INT
Christian Ponder – Vikings: 6,658 yards, 38 TD, 36 INT
Andrew Luck – Colts: 23,671 yards, 171 TD, 83 INT
Robert Griffin III – Washington FT: 8,097 yards, 40 TD, 23 INT
Ryan Tannehill – Dolphins: 20,434 yards, 75 TD, 80 INT
Brandon Weeden – Browns: 5,116 yards, 23 TD, 26 INT
E.J. Manuel – Bills: 3,502 yards, 19 TD, 15 INT
Blake Bortles – Jaguars: 17,646 yards, 103 TD, 75 INT
Johnny Manziel – Browns: 1,675 yards, 7 TD, 7 INT
Teddy Bridgewater – Vikings: 6,150 yards, 28 TD, 22 INT
Jameis Winston – Bucs: 19,737 yards, 121 TD, 88 INT
Marcus Mariota – Titans: 13,207 yards, 76 TD, 44 INT
Jared Goff – Rams: 18,171 yards, 107 TD, 55 INT
Carson Wentz – Eagles: 16,811 yards, 113 TD, 50 INT
Paxton Lynch – Broncos: 792 yards, 4 TD, 4 INT

That… is not a very good list. The top five are Stafford, Luck, Newton, … maybe Goff and Wentz or Jameis. Yikes.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, three quarterbacks were taken in the 2017 NFL Draft in the first round, Mitchell Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, and Patrick Mahomes. Only one of those is guaranteed to be with the team that drafted him in 2021.
