Quinn Ewers is expected to return to the University of Texas to play his fourth season of college football in 2024. It will be his third season with the Longhorns.

However, he has yet to make an announcement. There has been no official declaration about his future, and in the current era of the sport, everybody makes an official announcement about everything.

Ewers has not said publicly whether he will return to Texas or enter the NFL Draft pool. He’s been busy!

The 20-year-old quarterback lost to Washington in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day. Ewers did not necessarily play his best game of the year and was immediately bombarded with chatter about his five-star backup, Arch Manning, and whether it is time for Steve Sarkisian to hand over the keys.

Meanwhile, the incumbent starter over in Austin decided to escape all of the noise during his first weekend of the offseason. He rolled through southeast Texas to chase some tail, literally.

Quinn Ewers went down to McCoy, about 47 miles south of San Antonio, and got on some deer. His hunt was a great success.

He took down a nice (14-point?) buck with a vertical bow. That’s not easy to do— no matter how many times Ewers, an avid sportsman, has done it before!

Based only on his previous posts to Instagram, the buck from this past week was the biggest kill of his life. Ewers got a pair of 10ish-pointers back in 2020.

He got another similar-sized buck down during conference championship weekend in 2022.

Although Ewers had to wait a few extra weeks to get out on a hunt this year, he surely didn’t mind having to play a few extra games. And he certainly made it count as soon as he could get after it!
