The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly ready to offer future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady a two-year, $60 million contract, according to reports.

According to sports journalist and beat writer Larry Fitzgerald Sr. — the father of Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald — the  Las Vegas Raiders are prepared to offer Brady a 2-year, $60 million contract.

Brady, who was famously drafted by the New England Patriots with the 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL draft, has spent all 20 of his professional NFL season with the franchise.

The 42-year-old future first-ballot Hall of Famer, who will turn 43 prior to the start of next season, won six Super Bowl titles with Bill Belichick and the Patriots organization.

Despite the quarterback’s free agent status, Patriots team owner Robert Kraft has expressed that he wants the 14-time Pro Bowl selection to return to the team.

Whether the Raiders can lure Brady to Las Vegas, as their quarterback and biggest draw, remains uncertain. Patriots owner Robert Kraft has expressed how much he wants Brady to return to New England, and there will be more talks with the team before the free-agent period.

New England is expected to want to have a decision made well before the free-agent signing period begins March 18. But Brady also has said he is “open-minded” about the free-agent process, and other teams are expected to explore the possibility of signing him, according to sources. [via ESPN]

While Brady certainly regressed this season, he still put up more than respectable numbers for a starting quarterback, completing 60.8% of his passes and throwing for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions as he guided the Patriots to a 12-4 record.

NFL teams can officially offer contracts to players when the free agency period begins on Wednesday, March 18.
