The 7-2 Ravens didn’t make any trades at the NFL trade deadline at the end of last month but they came really close to making a huge one.

Throughout the trade deadline period, the Ravens were rumored to be in on Titans star running back Derrick Henry, but nothing was actually confirmed by a real report. Now we have it.

Ravens Pro Bowl cornerback Marlon Humphrey revealed on his ‘Punch Line’ podcast that he received a text that Derrick Henry was “85%” coming to the Ravens prior to the deadline.

On the Sunday leading up to the trade deadline, FOX’s Jay Glazer reported that one NFL team told him that they are still in talks with Tennessee about trading for the All-Pro running back.

Although it obviously ultimately didn’t happen, that move would’ve been a league changer. Henry has been the league’s best pure running back at least 2020, when he rushed for 2,027 yards and 17 touchdowns on his way to winning Offensive Player of the Year honors.

The Ravens have one of the best defenses in the NFL, and are coming off a huge 37-3 win over the Seahawks on Sunday – While they have no problem rushing the football, if they would’ve added Henry, it could’ve made them unstoppable.
