A Tampa Bay Rays ball boy is going viral this week following an impressive performance on Wednesday. The MLB team member slickly snagged a pair of foul balls right in front of the Minnesota Twins bullpen.

Pitchers in the pen were thoroughly impressed with the defensive efforts as they applauded the ball boy in his return to the bench. The catches caught the attention of fans online, too.

The Rays and Twins matched up on Wednesday night in an exciting American League contest. The low scoring affair brough fireworks late as the home team walked it off in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Entering that final frame, Tampa led Minnesota 1-0. The Twins tied things up in the top of the ninth on a Royce Lewis single before Randy Arozarena gave his team the lead for good with a leadoff home run in the Rays’ final at-bat.

But while the excitement on the field was great for fans in attendance, it was a Tampa Bay staffer that wowed viewers at home.

A Rays ball boy pulled out all the stops from his spot down the left field line. Defending the opposing bullpen, this kid did everything in his power to track down foul balls. He even showboated a bit, demonstrating some flare in the process.

It was appreciated by the Twins in the pen.

Fans on social media were quick to comment.

One person wrote, “Bro is trying to get signed,” while another said, “They’ve got to offer him like a rookie deal or something.”

Someone else commented, “No, the Rays even have the best ball boys.” Tampa Bay currently owns the best record in baseball, and it looks like they have the most talent off the roster, too.

With their most recent win, the Rays moved to 45-19 on the year. We’ll see if the ball boy makes any more web gems in the series finale.
