The LSU football team was seen trying on its new air-conditioned helmets for the first time this week, and it’s absolutely blown fans away.

That headgear will certainly be beneficial on those hot Louisiana Saturdays early in the season, particularly that SEC opener versus Mississippi State which has a noon kick.

The Tigers are gearing up for the upcoming season as they look to build upon a surprising 2022 campaign. Under first-year head coach Brian Kelly, the team won 10 games and made an appearance in the SEC Championship.

The highlight of that season was a thrilling 32-31 win over Alabama that let the football world know that the Tigers were for real.

While there was plenty new to see last year, the latest introduction might be one of the most exciting.

It looks like the team will wear new helmets in 2023 fully equipped with A/C.

Fans were absolutely blown away.

One person said, “Woah!!! This is a game changer.”

Someone else wrote, “That’ll go a long way on an early September Saturday.”

This follower commented, “I wonder how long it’ll take for every major program to adopt… I’m guessing you’ll see all the big dogs rolling into 2024 with AC helmets. Nicely done LSU.”

We’ll see how the helmets treat LSU players next season. This could certainly become a trend in college football, particularly in warm weather conferences.
