Rebecca Loos, the woman who infamously claimed to have had an affair with David Beckham while he was still playing soccer, responded to some of the “nasty comments” that have been directed at her since his Netflix documentary aired.

In 2004, Loos, 26 and David Beckham’s former assistant made international news when it was reported that she had an affair with the married soccer star.

In a story published by the now-defunct News of the World, Loos, who was a PR executive living in Madrid at the time, was appointed as an assistant to Beckham when he went to play for Real Madrid.

She claimed in the story that she slept with David Beckham four times over a four-month period of time while he was in Spanish capital.

“The carefully orchestrated news story about David Beckham’s alleged marital infidelity has caused unabashed shudders of joy and amusement throughout the country,” Independent newspaper columnist Terence Blacker said at the time.

Almost 20 years later, in his self-produced Netflix docuseries, David Beckham and his famous wife Victoria Beckham, AKA Posh Spice, addressed the rumored affair.

During the fourth episode of Beckham, David and Victoria talked about how their marriage almost came to an end after just five years.

David had moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid and allegedly while Victoria and his family was still in England, David had the affair with Loos.

While neither he, nor Victoria, ever publicly confirmed that David had the affair with Loos, Victoria did admit in the documentary that it was probably “the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life.”

Since the airing of that episode, Rebecca Loos, now 46 and a part-time medical assistant and yoga/meditation teacher, has been bombarded with numerous rather despicable comments on social media.

“Some of the comments on here are disgusting!!!” one commenter wrote on Loos’ Instagram account. “Stay strong. You have a beautiful life with your gorgeous family which unlike others doesn’t have to fill the gaps by getting Netflix involved!!!”

“Thank you,” Loos responded, “am taking in the nasty comments with as much humour as I can.”

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Rebecca Loos still has negative feelings towards David Beckham in relation to the entire ordeal.

“Rebecca thinks David should man up and publicly apologize for the pain he caused his wife instead of playing the victim,” a friend told the publication.

The Daily Mail adds, “He has always described the affair claims as ‘ludicrous,’ but he has never confirmed or denied that one took place.”

Nor did he do so in his new Netflix documentary almost two decades after the alleged affair made international headlines.

He also never took any legal action against Loos or News of the World over the story.
