For years now, football fans have been waiting to see Eric Bieniemy get a head coaching job in the NFL.

He has been linked with a number of jobs over the past couple of years, but nothing has materialized yet.

That is expected to change after this season.

Bieniemy will be a popular name to fill head coaching vacancies this offseason and he has already been linked with one job opening. It just so happens that job would keep him in the AFC West.

Bieniemy was one of the first names brought up to take over the head coaching position for the Denver Broncos after they fired Nathaniel Hackett this week.

Today, Andy Reid was asked about this possibility and supported Bieniemy in his pursuit of a head coaching job, but added that he would prefer if he didn’t get it with the Broncos.

I hope he gets an opportunity. I’d rather it not be in Denver, but I hope he gets an opportunity.

The Broncos just had a former offensive coordinator as a 1st year head coach and it didn’t work out so well for them. However, Bieniemy could be the answer to fix Russell Wilson after a brutal season for the Denver Broncos offense.

During Bieniemy’s tenure as offensive coordinator for the Chiefs, they have regularly been among the best offenses in football. This season, they are 2nd in the league in scoring and are throwing for nearly 30 more yards per game than any other team in the league.

We’ll probably see Bieniemy coaching somewhere besides Kansas City next season and Andy Reid will just have to hope it’s somewhere outside of the Chiefs’ division.
