Robert Griffin III has become must-see television every time he’s on the air for ESPN.

After retiring from NFL, Griffin has reinvented himself as an NFL and college football analyst for the broadcast giant.

In the last year alone, he’s had a number of moments that have set the internet on fire. Some of those moments he probably wishes never would have happened.

But others were just downright hilarious.

Griffin’s latest incredible broadcast moment, however, may just be his best yet. The former Heisman Trophy winner joined former Michigan lineman Taylor Lewan and former Penn State lineman A.Q. Shipley for the “Field Pass with The Pat McAfee Show” on ESPN2. McAfee is in Atlanta for the other semifinal between Ohio State and Georgia. But he is still on air for both games.

Late in the third quarter, Griffin answer his cell phone in the middle of the broadcast, which led Lewan to ask “what is he doing?”

That answer, as it turns out, was pretty important.

After hanging up, Griffin informed his co-hosts that his wife, Grete, was in labor. He then high-tailed his way out of the arena in hopes of getting to the hospital on time to see the birth of his child.

Griffin and his wife were married in 2018 and the pair already have two daughters together. Griffin also has a daughter with his first wife, Rebecca, whom he separated from in 2018.

The incident is just another example of the hilarity that comes with RG3 every time he’s on ESPN. Though something tells us that network executives will be okay with this wholesome moment of levity.
