Since retiring from his NBA career, Kendrick Perkins has made a habit of slandering great players like Kevin Durant in his role as an NBA analyst. Last night, he got hit with some shade of his own.

Perkins was working with Richard Jefferson on the broadcast for the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. During the broadcast, Jefferson revealed that he hasn’t played basketball since he retired from the NBA. While discussing that revelation, Jefferson put the hammer down on Perkins.

Jefferson certainly isn’t wrong with his assessment of Perkins’ career. His last few years in the league were not the most impressive.

Perkins’s last season in the league saw him spend time in the G League and only make one appearance for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He scored 3 points and had one rebound in that game.

Before that, he spent a season with the New Orleans Pelicans. That year, he appeared in 37 games and averaged 2.5 points and 3.5 rebounds. The year before that, he split time with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers. He put up 3.6 points and 4.7 rebounds in 68 appearances.

You’d have to go back to the year prior to that to find the last time Kendrick Perkins was a regular starter. He started 62 games for the Thunder during the 2013-14 season. He still only averaged 3.4 points and 6 rebounds per game, but that was good enough to be a starter for a team that made the Western Conference Finals.

Richard Jefferson saw an opportunity here and absolutely destroyed Perkins with that opportunity.
