NFL legend, tight end Rob Gronkowski has entered the realm of bowl games as a headline name.

The LA Bowl revealed a groundbreaking multiyear deal with Gronkowski, marking him as the first former player to have a bowl game bear his name: The LA Bowl Hosted By Gronk.

Traditionally hosted at the magnificent SoFi Stadium, the LA Bowl was inaugurated two years ago under the sponsorship of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. The event showcases teams from the Mountain West and Pac-12 conferences.

With the Pac-12 bidding farewell to 10 teams next year, the game’s conference affiliations are set to be reevaluated post this season.

Gronkowski showed his usual enthusiasm about the transition: “Jimmy was a fantastic host and brought a lot of elements to the game. But it’s my turn now, and I’m going to turn it up, that’s for sure,” he shared with the Associated Press. Gronkowski, an alumnus of the University of Arizona, revealed that his ultimate aspiration is to see the Wildcats participate in this newly christened bowl game.

Scheduled for December 16th, The LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk is set to electrify Inglewood, Calif.
