Outside of Tom Brady’s family, future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski probably knows more about what the legendary quarterback is thinking when it comes to the future and playing football than anyone.

While Brady made his thoughts on retirement pretty clear on the final episode of his Let’s Go! podcast on Monday, not everyone is buying what TB12 is selling.

Not even Brady’s BFFL Gronk.

In the lead up to Super Bowl LVI, the five time Pro Bowler shared his thoughts with USA Today about whether or not Tom Brady will ever make a comeback.

“The guy can play at any age,” said Gronkowski. “If he’s 50 years old he can still come back. I think he’s going to come back but in a couple of years. The guy’s a beast. He can play anytime.”

Will Tom Brady pull a Rob Gronkowski and unretire after a year away?

Rob Gronkowski knows a little something about coming out of retirement. Heck, he did it himself and ended up with a fourth Super Bowl ring.

So when is he finally going to hang it up? For real this time?

“I’ll figure all that out in the future,” he said. “Let everything play out, then make a move. So I’m just relaxing, letting my body heal, have a good time, have some laughs.”

Gronk, as is his way, was more worried about who was performing that night at the Super Bowl.

“Flo Rida’s performing tonight. He’s my favorite performer of all time,” he continued. “So that’s what it’s all about. When you’re not playing the game, you’ve got to just enjoy yourself.”

However, if it is up to his girlfriend Camille Kostek, Gronkowski won’t be retiring just yet – even if it means playing his first season in the NFL without Tom Brady throwing him the ball.

“If you ask me what I want him to do, I think myself, like a lot of the fans, never want to see the Gronk spikes end. We always want to see those celebrations in the end zone,” Kostek told TMZ.

“I also can’t picture him with another quarterback, at the same time,” she added.

“I would love to watch him play football some more. He knows that. I tell him.”

As for whether Tom Brady will ever come back, Kostek gives the obvious answer: “We saw Rob do it, right?”

Maybe.

Then again, maybe the fact that one of Tom Brady’s production companies, Religion of Sports, is reported to be currently looking to raise $50 million, combined with his other business ventures like TB12, 199 Productions, BRADY, and Autograph, means that he really is done for good.
