NFL legend Rob Gronkowski weighed in on the ongoing debate about the greatest tight end of all time, between himself and Chiefs Travis Kelce.

In a recent appearance on the Ryen Russillo Podcast, Gronk was directly asked by Ryan: “Are you better than Kelce?”

“I would say in a different aspect. I mean, I believe that Travis Kelce is the best, like, receiving tight end. If you’re talking about a tight end, he’s the best tight end in terms of catching the ball. There’s no doubt about it, you can’t even argue. I mean, he’s had seven 1,000-yard seasons in a row. He’s a great red zone target as well, and when he’s not out on the field, they’re not the same team,” Gronkowski declared.

While Gronk had no problem talking up Kelce’s receiving talent, he was quick to acknowledge that the “Greatest of All Time” title depends on various factors.

He recognized that different playing styles, offensive systems, and teammates can impact a player’s legacy. Gronkowski, known for his elite blocking and physical playing style, says that it’s an argument he doesn’t want to have the final say on.

Kelce, who’s still in his thirties, currently holds the top spot on the career receiving list for tight ends in yards per game and sits sixth in touchdowns with 72.

Kelce’s seven consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons are an NFL record, and he’s on track to extend that streak this season.

Gronkowski has been a touchdown king during his NFL career with 107 total touchdowns including the playoffs plus an array of big plays in big primetime games makes him a strong contender in the GOAT debate.

We probably won’t settle the debate of the best Tight End in history soon, with a lot of people liking Gronk but more and more joining the Kelce camp as he continues to produce, but it was nice to hear an honest response from Gronk about it.
