Following their win over the previously undefeated Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh is obviously feeling confident in his defense.
Speaking to reporters after the Jets’ 20-14 win, which brought their record up to .500 at 3-3 ahead of their bye week, Saleh said that the team’s defense has “embarrassed all” of the elite quarterbacks they’ve played so far this season.
Through six games this season, the Jets have gone up against the likes of Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Jalen Hurts, and Dak Prescott.
“Our defense, per the usual, outstanding. Through these first six weeks, we’ve played a gauntlet of quarterbacks. I know we haven’t gotten all wins, but we’ve embarrassed all of them,” Saleh said.
“Just really, really proud of the defense and its resolve. I thought Brick and his staff had an excellent game plan, down three corners, four of our six corners. I thought our d-line was good in terms of keeping him in the pocket — he’ a handful, Hurts, their o-line, their receivers, but our guys battled all the way through.”

Saleh’s assessment is certainly valid when it comes to the Eagles game as the Jets defensive unit absolutely terrorized Jalen Hurts, who tossed three interceptions, including two in the fourth quarter. They also forced a fumble from running back DeAndre Swift.
So far this season, across six games, the Jets defense has given up just 31 points in the second half. That’s 31 points across 12 quarters of second-half, crunchtime football.
Sunday was just as notable for what happened on the sidelines, as well, as Aaron Rodgers was not only on the field walking around, but was throwing a football.
After their bye week, the Jets will next be taking on the New York Giants on Sunday, October 29. Given what’s going on with the 1-5 G-Men right now, the Jets will surely be favorites in that game despite being the “road” team.
