Rodney Harrison Just Dropped The Strangest Take Of All On Colin Kaepernick: ‘He’s Not Black’

Like I said earlier today, EVERYONE, even Colin Kaepernick’s birth mom, has an opinion on his decision to not stand for the national anthem and his reasons why.

Drew Brees has thoughts. Tony Stewart has thoughts. Victor Cruz has thoughts. Of course Donald Trump has thoughts. Everyone has thoughts.

However, none of the people I mentioned above have dropped a hot take anything remotely as fire as the take NBC Sports football analyst and former NFL player Rodney Harrison dropped today.

Appearing on “The Proper Gentlemen of Sports” show on Houston’s SportsTalk 790 on Tuesday morning Harrison, while agreeing that Kaepernick’s trying to do the right thing, he said that Kaep doesn’t completely understand the issue because he’s “not black.” Seriously, that’s what he said.

“Colin Kaepernick, he’s not black, okay? He cannot understand what I face and what other young black men and black people face or people of color face on an every single basis.”

Ummm, so, uh, what is Colin Kaepernick then if he isn’t black? Sorry, Rodney you lost me there.

He was born to a white mother and a black father. Seems to me that there’s another guy who everyone considers black that was born into the same situation. His name is Barack Obama. Is he also not black? If so, I guess we’re still waiting on the first black President to be elected. Someone get the AP on the horn, because that should be the real news story here I guess.

Update: Harrison has since apologized and stated that he didn’t know Kaepernick was mixed. Riiight.
