There was a time when I actually had respect for Commissioner Roger Goodell. I must have been smoking some strong ass weed, though.
Goodell, who is the NFL’s public enemy No. 1 thanks to his inability to, you know, do his fucking job, has taken the most powerful pro sports league in the world and has turned it into a laughingstock chalk full of inconsistencies. And his reply as a guest on “Mike & Mike” to the whole Laremy Tunsil video proves that Goodell is incapable of being in charge of the NFL.
Here’s what @NFLCommish said when asked about the incident—which he admitted he was unaware of during the draft last night:
“I think it’s all part of what makes the draft so exciting,” Goodell said. “Clubs make decisions. Sometimes they take risks. Sometimes they do the right things. Sometimes they don’t, and we’ll see. Hopefully he is going to turn out to be a great young player.”
Exciting? Dude, the kid just lost MILLIONS OF FUCKING DOLLARS because his account was, allegedly, hacked and a video from who knows when of him smoking pot was the reason! Would ol’ Roger be “excited” had this shit happened to him? Fuck no!
As if there were any small hope that the NFL was about anything but making money, Goodell’s statement squashes that. Keep doing you, Roger Goodell!
