Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku has been a meme for over a decade for missing easy chances in big spots. The former Chelsea, Everton, and Manchester United man had his most important howler yet in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League Final 1-0 loss to Manchester City.

Romelu Lukaku isn’t really that bad of a player. He has scored 211 goals in his club career and another 72 for Belgium. Top teams still want to acquire him. But, it’s the legacy of terrible misses that haunt his career. Take a look.

He was brought on as a substitute in the 59th minute of the massive final against Manchester City in a scoreless game for Edin Dzeko, who left with what appeared to be a minor leg injury. And, two big moments by Lukaku kept his side from possibly winning the most prestigious trophy in club football.

First, Romelu Lukaku kept out a header by his teammate Frederico DiMarco that was sure to go in and equalize just seconds after Manchester City’s Rodri scored to go up 1-0.

Then, in the 89th minute, he somehow didn’t score on a free header inside the six-yard-box when City keeper Ederson made the biggest save of his life.

How did he not score?!

The memes were out in full force, as well.

It will forever be remembered as the game Romelu Lukaku lost for Inter Milan.
