The video takes us back in time to Ronda Rousey’s youth, which has now been well-chronicled thanks to a book she wrote and her many talk show appearances. In it we see Ronda growing up with her mom, learning that art of judo, getting into fights at school, then marveling at UFC fighters and sparking an idea in her head.
And if you think there’s some CGI magic going on to make Ronda look younger, there isn’t. She’s being played by her younger sister Julia De Mars in the short film.
Holm eventually does make an appearance at the end, just so you know who Ronda is fighting.
UFC 193 was supposed to be headlined by Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit, but due to injury it’s Ronda on the main event. Will she be able to fill the 90,000 seat Etihad Stadium in Melbourne Australia on November 15th? It’s just the third time that the UFC has used a stadium venue for one of their shows so this is definitely a looming question. This hype video has me thinking that she just might.
