Rory McIlroy In A Walking Boot Following Soccer Injury, No Word On His British Open Hopes

by 3 years ago

Apparently, the world No. 1 ruptured an ankle ligament while playing soccer with friends over the weekend. There’s been no word whether Rory McIlroy will play at The Open Championship next week at St. Andrews, but this walking boot sure brings into question any chance to compete.

So did Jordan Spieth’s hunt for the golf’s Grand Slam just get easier or what!? But in all honesty, what a shame for the game of golf.

Looks like Rory might have plenty of time on his hands to break in a couch and get really good at his forthcoming EA Sports video game.

It hits stores July 14 – the same date the British Open is set to get underway.
