Frequent and recent Draymond Green victim Rudy Gobert has spoken out about the 33-year-old Golden State Warriors forward being suspended indefinitely by the NBA.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Gobert said that Green is “not well inside,” leading some NBA fans to believe he perhaps was trolling Draymond after frequently being on the receiving end of his violent outbursts over the years, including this season.

“I have empathy for him. You see somebody that’s not well inside and suffering. You take away the game and all that, and you want somebody to be well and be able to do what we do every night and compete and be happy,” Gobert said.

“I’m not sure what that really means, so it’s hard to tell,” the Minnesota Timberwolves said of the undetermined length of Green’s suspension. “I mean, you don’t want someone to get badly hurt. You’ve got to fix that. That’s it.”

Gobert isn’t the only one using bizarrely delicate (in Gobert’s case, however, there’s a chance he’s being facetious) language when discussing Draymond, as Adrian Wojnarowski’s reporting of his suspension and Steve Kerr’s sympathetic comments about Green emphasized that he needs “help,” which is a ridiculous suggestion.

“To me, this is about more than basketball. It’s about helping Draymond. I think it’s an opportunity for Draymond to step away and to make a change in his approach, in his life. That’s not an easy thing to do,” Kerr said.

“It’s not just about an outburst on the court—this is about his life. This is about someone who I believe in, someone who I’ve known for a decade, who I love for his loyalty, his commitment, his passion, his love for his teammates, his friends, his family. Trying to help that guy.”

Green is not struggling with depression or addiction — he’s simply just a menace, nothing more and nothing less. He’s been in the NBA for over a decade and has made hundreds of millions of dollars while doing so and still hasn’t learned his lesson despite multiple suspensions. Why? Because that’s who he is. That’s why. And anyone suggesting it’s anything other than that should be embarrassed.
