When the Seattle Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, it began one of the craziest offseasons the NFL has ever seen. The whole AFC West seemingly followed suit in trying to load up on talent to try and survive in the division.
The move came as a shock to football fans after the Seahawks repeatedly claimed that Wilson wasn’t going anywhere. However, Wilson took some time yesterday while at his football camp to talk to the public about what drew him to the Broncos.
Russell Wilson: “I want to make sure that I go to a city that wants to win. I want to make sure I that I go to a team that wants to win. And I want to go to a city that knows how to win. And all those three things were checked off the box here in Denver” pic.twitter.com/ciWFtIS9Ag

“Once the trade was going to happen, I said, ‘Hey, listen, I want to make sure that I go to a city that wants to win. I want to make sure I that I go to a team that wants to win. And I want to go to a city that knows how to win.’ And all those three things were checked off the box here in Denver and so I think we’ve got a chance.”
While the city of Denver hasn’t necessarily had the most decorated history of champions, with the Nuggets and Rockies both failing to ever win a ring in their histories, the Broncos and Avalanche have certiainly done their part. The Avs have won a pair of titles since moving to Colorado in 1995.
The Broncos have also had quite a bit of success over the last few decades, winning the Super Bowl in 1997, 1998, and 2015. Now Wilson will try and add to that tally as he joins a Broncos roster that is ready to compete with the league’s best teams.
