During the Thursday Night Football broadcast of the Cleveland Browns vs. New York Jets game, pregame host and former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a subtle jab at Aaron Rodgers.

As the Prime Video crew was interviewing the injured 40-year-old quarterback, Fitzpatrick introduced himself by saying, “Hey Aaron, Ryan Fitzpatrick here, Class of 2005, twice Vaxxed.”

To Rodgers’ credit, the four-time NFL MVP got a kick out of Fitzmagic’s comments as he can clearly be seen and heard chuckling.

Fitz’s barb was a reference to Rodgers’ comments on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this week, as he said — unprompted — that people should “state their vax status” before asking him about his injury.

“It’s the same people, with the same comments. I think what we should do is, the same people who are criticizing me, or coming up with these conspiracies about my injury, whatever… before they talk, let’s go back to 2021 and let’s make people say their vax status to start. That’ll frame all these comments in the right window,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers was on the sidelines for the 16th straight game as he tore his Achilles just four snaps into the season despite all of the self-conducted medical research he’s done about keeping his body in tip-top shape.

Following their 37-20 loss at the hands of the Cleveland Browns, the Jets record now sits at 6-10 with one matchup remaining against the New England Patriots in what could be Bill Belichick’s final game as head coach.

The Jets will also be missing their playoffs this season, marking their 13th straight year without a postseason appearance, which is the longest active streak in American professional sports.
