Auburn is working really hard to flip Ryan Williams from his commitment to Alabama. The Tigers hosted the five-star wide receiver over the weekend with the early signing period set to begin on the 20th.

His choice of clothing while on the Plains might say everything that needs to be said.

Williams, a native of Saraland, Ala., was the top-ranked pass catcher in the college football recruiting Class of 2025 before his recent reclassification. He is now considered to be one of the top-15 players nationally in this year’s class.

26 different schools offered Williams. Nick Saban, Holmon Wiggins, Travaris Robinson and the Crimson Tide ultimately received his pledge way back in October of 2022. It has been more than a year!

Despite the long-time allegiance to Alabama, Williams has allowed Auburn to present its best case. Multiple current players joined him on Instagram live last week to pitch him on the Tigers.

The entire student section chanted “we want Ryan” while he was in attendance at Sunday’s basketball game against USC. Williams was loving the love and it looked like he had a blast on his last-minute trip.

However, while on the visit to Auburn, Williams wore an Alabama sweatshirt.

He swung by ‘The Atelier,’ a really cool vintage/designer clothing/thrift store near downtown, to pick up a new outfit ahead of the basketball game. The famous ‘A’ was displayed proudly on his chest as he did.

This could mean everything. This could mean nothing.

That’s what makes recruiting so much fun. It’s a lot like the NBA offseason, where the speculation and rumors run wild, which leads fanbases to meltdown when things don’t go their way.

Williams wearing an Alabama hoodie while on an official visit to Auburn is very funny. Especially if the Tigers are unable to flip him from the Tide. Their efforts would have been a massive waste of time just to see a five-star prospect go to play for their biggest rival.
