This weekend, the WNBA gets the chance to put its brightest stars on display for their fans.

One of those stars that fans will be seeing a lot of is Sabrina Ionescu.

Not only is she expected to play in the WNBA All-Star Game, but she was also going to be a part of Team Liberty in the Skills Challenge and she also took part in the 3-point contest earlier today.

The Skills Challenge didn’t exactly go according to plan for Team Liberty. They came in second against Team Aces, which starred Kelsey Plum and Chelsea Gray.

The outcome was very different for her in the 3-point contest.

After working her way to the final round, Ionescu stepped up to the racks one last time.

At the time, she knew she had to top the 11 points scored by Wings star Arike Ogunbowale, but would still have to wait for the Storm’s Sami Whitcomb to shoot after her.

She blew past Ogunbowale’s total and just about made Whitcomb’s round unnecessary.

After missing the first shot of her round, Ionescu went on to make her next 20 in an incredible shooting display.

The 20 consecutive makes was the most in either the NBA or WNBA 3-point contest.

in total, Ionescu only missed 2 shots in the round, scoring 37 points in the process. That is the most ever between both the men’s and women’s 3-point contests.

Before this performance, the women’s record was 30 points and the men’s was 31.

Ionescu has been one of the WNBA’s best 3-point shooters throughout this season.

She has hit the 2nd most 3s in the league this year while shooting an impressive 44.6% from behind the arc. That is the 4th best mark in the WNBA.

You have to wonder why this event took place on a Friday afternoon, but Sabrina Ionescu made the most of her chance to shine during WNBA All-Star weekend.
