Update:

A video of Saints wide receiver Chris Olave’s arrest has been released through TMZ.

Original Story:

Saints wideout Chris Olave was arrested Monday night, and is accused of reckless operation of a motor vehicle, as reported by NOFNetwork’s Nick Underhill.

Olave’s speed exceeded the limit by 35 mph, yet he apparently cooperated with police and didn’t resist during his arrest. Olave was clocked going 70 in a 35 zone limit.

Currently, Olave is in the process of being detained and is anticipated to be released shortly from Kenner City Jail.

The Saints drafted Olave from Ohio State last season, choosing him 11th overall in the 2022 Draft. He made an immediate impact as a rookie with 1,042 yards from 72 catches and four touchdowns.

This season, he’s continued to make his mark, having participated in all seven games, securing 39 passes for 471 yards and a touchdown.

No more information is currently available.

Many NFL fans felt the arrest reminded them of Vikings rookie Jordan Addison speeding earlier this year, when he blamed his speeding for an emergency with his dog.
