The San Jose Sharks Gave a Make-a-Wish Kid a One-Day Contract, and the Video Will Hit You Square in the Feels

Sam Tageson—who was born with a irreversible heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome—got to live out his dream with the San Jose Sharks this week after the club signed him to a one-day contract. Tageson was told he could never even ride a bike, much less play hockey, but the athlete practiced with the team on Tuesday, skated out of its signature shark head during warmups, and stood along the blue line, beside his new teammates, during the National Anthem.

The kicker of this already incredible video comes when Sam is introduced over the PA system and he finally shows his emotions in the moment. It’s… goddamn. It’s something. The Sharks came through in a big way here.
