Getting over an ex can be difficult, especially when that ex is two-time Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley and he leaves you for your sworn enemy.

That’s exactly what Barkley did in the offseason when the former New York Giants star signed for the Philadelphia Eagles, and Giants fans still aren’t over it.

Barkley attended Game 6 of the NBA playoff series between the Knicks and Sixers on Thursday and New York fans let him know they were still hurt by the more.

“You bailed. On New York. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind,” one fan replied to Barkley when he pointed out that fans still aren’t over the move.

But Barkley wasn’t having it.

“Let me educate some of you fans here… I can’t bail or become a traitor if I never got an offer to come back,” he tweeted. “So I went to the organization I felt that was the best and after already being here for a month man I’m excited to be a eagle ! Go birds 🦅.”

Barkley left the Giants in free agency after the team refused to offer him what he felt was an adequate long-term contract. He played on the franchise tag during the 2023 season.

Shortly after the move, former New York running back Tiki Barber said that Barkley was “dead to me” in a controversial radio segment.

“He’s dead to us now. You’re dead to us, Saquon. Good luck, you’re dead to me,” Barber said.

I guess you could then say that the latest beef is Giants fans speaking ill of the dead?

Barkley responding to Barber by tweeted “@TikiBarber you been a hater since I got to New York … and all the ‘Dead to me’ talk don’t smile in my face when you see me.”

Safe to say those fences don’t look like they’re getting mended anytime soon.
