An interesting phenomenon took place in Ford Field on Sunday during a matchup between Detroit and Seattle. Lions fans all donned ski masks while rooting on their team against the Seahawks.

Unfortunately, the tactic didn’t work as the Lions fell in overtime. Seattle players quickly trolled the franchise in their postgame celebration.

Detroit defensive back CJ Gardner started the push for ski masks, pleading for a “sea of blue” ahead of the team’s meeting with the Seahawks. He got his wish as the fanbase came together to show support.

One supporter even cashed in on his attempts to provide Lions’ fans with the ski masks, selling to a large contingency of those fans at a ridiculous markup.

In the end, those face coverings would only hide the disappointed expression of fans in Ford Field after watching their team lose a heartbreaker.

In a back-and-forth game, Detroit would tie things up on the final play of regulation. A Geno Smith touchdown pass late in the extra session would end the contest, though.

Seattle would win in overtime, 37-31.

After the game, Seahawks players celebrated with ski masks.

NFL fans and followers were quick to respond to the trolling on social media.

“Now kids, this is ELITE level trolling!!! Take notes,” one fan wrote.

“Absolutely savage move,” another follower said.

“This was cold blooded,” this person commented.

Tough look for the Lions.
