US Senator Markwayne Mullin from Oklahoma is a father of 6 and a former MMA fighter. Prior to being elected to the US Senate and holding the distinction of being on the only sitting senator without at least a bachelor’s degree, Markwayne Mullin fought in 3 MMA fights and won all three in under 10 minutes combined. He’d make quick work of his opponents.
On Tuesday, a feud between the Oklahoma senator and Teamster boss Sean M. O’Brien boiled over into a Senate Help Committee hearing and violence nearly broke out on the Senate floor when Markwayne Mullin stood up to fight Sean O’Brien.

Their feud began about 8 months ago when Senator Mullin told O’Brien “shut your mouth” after a heated exchange. Sean O’Brien is the general president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters a labor union totaling over 1.3 million members, and O’Brien didn’t back down to the Oklahoma senator’s threats.
Unable to shake that confrontation from their past, they two nearly came to blows on the Senator floor on Tuesday. Senator Mullin seems proud of the moment as he shared video of the exchange on his personal X, formerly known as Twitter, account.
He also responded to another account with a picture of him loading a gun on top of a table full of other guns and ammo. Mullin is evidently relishing in this moment where violence nearly broke out on the Senate floor and centuries of decorum was cast aside.
It didn’t take long for ‘Mulltin’ to become the top trend on Twitter/X. Bernie Sanders was also trending as he could be heard in the background repeatedly saying “You’re a United States senator” in an attempt to get through to him and diffuse the situation.
Markwayne Mullin’s MMA career started in 2006 and ended in 2007 with one fight in the former and two in the latter, according to the Sherdog database. He won his first fight with a Rear-Naked Choke submission. His second fight was won by an Armbar submission. And his third fight was won by TKO (punches).
He has a personal reported net worth between ‘$31.6 million and $75.6 million’ according to Wiki which is such a hilariously large range for a net worth it almost seems silly to report at all.
Sean O’Brien has not acknowledged the spat yet on Twitter and it remains to be seen if he will.
