The Night Cap podcast ripped Enes Kanter for his WNBA stunt
Shannon Sharpe, Chad Ochocinco, and Joe Johnson ripped Enes Kanter for his recent WNBA stunt following his ejection from Sunday’s Chicago Sky vs. Atlanta Dream game. The trio called Kanter’s campaign out for what it is: a 15-minute-of-fame grift.
On their popular Night Cap podcast, the trio broke down Enes Kanter’s courtside ejection from the Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever game on Sunday and — similar to some current and former NBA players — ripped Kanter’s behavior.
On Sunday, he showed up to the Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever game wearing a T-shirt that featured the dictionary definition of a woman and was ejected from the arena during the third quarter after stepping onto the edge of the court to argue with Sky guard Natasha Cloud.

“He probably ain’t never been to no WNBA game. Then go there just to be the agitator, just cause ruckus, just to make the headlines. Come on, bro — what we doing?” Johnson began.
Sharpe has the most elaborate thoughts on the topic, as he broke down what Kanter’s likely strategy is (Kanter did, in fact, speak to Fox News in the immediate aftermath of the incident).
“He’s rage baiting. Then he’s gonna run to Fox News and talk about, ‘See, this is what I’m talking about — they’re not inclusive. They wanna have their cake and eat it too’ and yada yada yada yada yada. If you were good, you’d still be in the NBA. His own home country don’t want him back.”
“People just want their 15 minutes of fame and are just gonna carry on and carry on. I don’t get it. Then you wear the t-shirt knowing [it will] enrage people. I don’t get his angle. “

“He tripping,” Johnson succinctly summarizes at the end of the clip.
Earlier this month, Kanter officially declared for the WNBA Draft and has since claimed he’s spoken to other former professional athletes who want to join him.
The criticism from Sharpe, Ochocinco, and Johnson is particularly relevant as they are not only his peers in terms of being professional athletes, but also accomplished far more in their careers than Kanter ever did. Sharpe is a Hall of Famer, Ochocinco was a six-time NFL Pro Bowler, and Johnson was a seven-time NBA All-Star. Kanter, on the other hand, was a career role player and was out of the NBA by the time he was 30 years old.
