After five rounds and 144 picks, Shedeur Sanders finally went off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft to the Cleveland Browns. Sanders’ wait was, by far, the biggest story of the first two rounds of the draft as he went from a prospective first-round pick to a potential undrafted free agent. Along the way, a couple of pranksters went viral by getting ahold of Sanders’ phone number and calling him while imitating New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis.

“This is Mickey Loomis here, (general manager) of the Saints. It’s been a long wait, man. We’re gonna take you with our next pick right here, man,” the caller said.

“Yes sir, let’s be legendary,” Sanders responded.

“But you’re gonna have to wait a little bit longer, man. Sorry about that,” the caller said before hanging up.

Sanders shared video of the prank call on the Well Off Media YouTube channel run by Deion Sanders Jr., his older brother.

All told, Sanders took the prank in stride.

“Nobody has that number but coaches, strictly for that reason. Why get mad? They want you to have a certain type of reaction to it,” he told his brother on the video. “They want you to feel bad. But I ain’t trippin’.”

On Saturday morning, a pair of Ole Miss frat bros released video of themselves placing the call from the other end. The video has since been deleted from the original X account that posted it. But reports have since stated that NFL officials got in touch with the pranksters and directed them to remove the video.

Ultimately, it’s a pretty lame thing to do. Sanders is a polarizing prospect, no doubt. But kicking someone when they’re down is pretty low class, regardless of whether or not it goes viral on social media.
