Los Angeles Angels Star Shohei Ohtani Just Eclipsed One Of Babe Ruth’s Records

Shohei Ohtani is truly a one-of-a-kind player in Major League Baseball. The two-way phenom from Japan is doing things that no player in Major League Baseball has ever done in a career, let alone in a season.

Shohei Ohtani is one of the league’s best hitters AND one of its best pitchers. He was AL MVP in 2021, runner-up last year, and was also runner-up in the Cy Young voting in 2022.

No player has ever been this good at hitting and pitching at the same time, though the great Babe Ruth was one of the league’s best pitchers before becoming a hitter full-time in 1919 in his last year with the Boston Red Sox.

There are a ton of comparisons made between the two as players who revolutionized the game. And, those comparisons won’t stop, as Shohei Ohtani now has more strikeouts than the 488 Babe Ruth had in his career.

That’s quite the accomplishment! Though, something tells me that he won’t be catching Babe Ruth’s 714 home runs.

In classic Angels fashion, they wasted an awesome Ohtani outing and lost to the Astros, 3-1.
