Major League Baseball star Shohei Ohtani made his eagerly-anticipated debut for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.

Ohtani managed to deliver on the big stage despite the drama of police receiving a report of an email threatening to detonate a bomb at the stadium.

According to the Yonhap News Agency, after learning of the threat local police planned to deploy 30 commandos and 120 personnel to search the stadium.

Thankfully, no threat was found and the game carried on as planned.

It turned out that the only bomb during the game was hit by Shohei Ohtani when he shattered the roof of the Gocheok Sky Dome with a 119 MPH rocket foul ball that disappeared into the ether.

Yes, that was his new wife, Japanese basketball player Mamiko Tanaka, in the Dodgers jersey and cap clapping at her husband’s prodigious power at the plate, which naturally led to her going viral on social media.

It was revealed last week that Tanaka was the mystery woman who Shohei Ohtani somehow managed to keep a secret all the way up the couple’s wedding.

As for the game itself, it too was a wild affair as the Dodgers scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning with the help of an equipment failure.

With the score tied 2-2, Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux hit a routine ground ball to the Padres’ Jake Cronenworth which looked like it would result in a double play.

Instead, the ball busted through the webbing of Cronenworth’s glove and rolled into right field, scoring another new Dodger, Teoscar Hernández, giving Los Angeles a lead it would not relinquish.

Two batter later, Shohei Ohtani, of course, drove in another run with his second hit of the day, and the Dodgers would go on to a 5-2 victory on MLB Opening Day.
