Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre better get ready to right a big, fat check to the NBA.

Oubre, who signed a one-year deal with the Sixers in the offseason, has taken on a bigger role offensively with superstar center Joel Embiid out with an injury.

But when he tried to take a game-winning shot on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, things sort of went awry.

Kelly Oubre Lays Into Refs Over Late Game Missed Calls

Oubre started the late-game meltdown with a foul on Kawhi Leonard that gave the Clippers star a chance at an and-1 that put Los Angeles up 108-107 with 15 seconds remaining.

On the ensuing possession, Oubre drove to the rim and felt he was fouled by Leonard. Instead, referees deemed it a clean play and after a challenge by Sixers coach Nick Nurse, the ball went out to center court for a jump ball.

Philadelphia won the jump ball.

Nicolas Batum then passed to an open Oubre. But in the process of trying to shoot the ball, Oubre was fouled by Paul George.

But the refs stayed silent.

Oubre never actually got his shot off and the Sixers went on to lose by one.

Both Nurse and Oubre were incensed by the lack of the call and immediately ran up to the refs.

“You a b—-. You a b—-. Ya mom’s a b—-, ya dad’s a b—-, ya grandma’s a b—-” Oubre appeared to tell the referees.

It didn’t take long for him to issue an apology.

“I want to apologize for just losing my cool, because that’s something I try to work on each and every day, and try to represent God in the best way I possibly can, and that wasn’t it. I just ask for forgiveness,” he said postgame “It wasn’t cool, so I’ll take whatever penalties come with that.”

The apology is a nice sentiment.

But it probably won’t spare him the many thousand-dollar fine headed his way from the NBA.
