Although Snoop Dogg did not go to college, he rocks heavy with the University of Southern California. Especially when the football team is winning like it was during the early 2000s.
Pete Carroll led one of the most dominant dynasties in college football history from 2001-2009. The Trojans won the Pac-10 title in seven of nine years with four wins in the Rose Bowl, one win in the Orange Bowl, and two national championships. Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush also won three Heisman Trophies in four years at USC during that stretch.
Snoop Dogg, who was in his early 30s at the time, used to be around the program a lot— both on and off the field. He would often pull up to practice just to hang out and run some routes.
He would then follow it up by spitting bars during team meetings.
Whenever practice was over, Snoop would invite the players to hang out at his house and occasionally brought a few of them on tour. Running back Hershel Dennis was from Long Beach so there was an even deeper connection with the ball-carriers.
Snoop literally used to pick up LenDale White (a known cannabis enthusiast) from class and smoke him out. The 18-year-old quickly discovered that the rapper’s weed was on a different level but eventually got used to the high.
Meanwhile, Bush was smack dab in the middle of his record-setting 2005 season. While Snoop Dogg was driving around and burning it down with White, his backfieldmate was trying to get some air.
On at least one occasion, they didn’t let him!
Snoop and company refused to roll down a window. They forcibly hotboxed the Heisman Trophy winner.
Not only is it crazy to think about a bunch of college athletes rolling around with one of the greatest rappers of all-time, they were passing blunts in a constant rotation which is pretty epic. And even though Bush didn’t want to burn, he was forced to sit tight and take in the contact high!
