Arch Manning hype season has officially begun in Austin. Texas fans got their first glimpse of the freshman signal caller donning the burnt orange, and they’ve already flooded social media with reaction following his first collegiate practice.

The rookie finds himself in a quarterback competition with incumbent starter Quinn Ewers. Both were considered five-star prospects prior to entering college.

Ewers may have a leg up on his counterpart due to a year of experience, but that hasn’t stopped head coach Steve Sarkisian from opening up the job.

“Quinn has an entire year of a head start, but I don’t want to hold Arch back. I want to see how far he can take this thing and what it can look like.”

That’s encouraging news to Manning, who is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his uncles, Peyton and Eli, as well his namesake, Archie Manning.

He’s already off to a start as he was spotted repping that No. 16 made so famous by the Manning family.

Fans also got a chance to see him in action.

Video of that inaugural practice have already hit social media, resulting in a slew of responses from excited Longhorns supporters.

Here’s another angle of Arch tossing the pigskin around.

Fans are eager to see Manning on the field.

One person wrote, “Obviously, Ewers is our starter, but 16 looks bigger and seems to throw it tighter.”

Someone else said, “Perfect throw by 16!”

It’ll be tough for the passer to beat out Ewers on the depth chart, but we’re sure to see Arch Manning under center at some point this season.
