Spain made sure President Trump was not in their World Cup trophy celebration photo.
Before Sunday’s World Cup final, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said he planned for Trump to help hand out the trophy to the tournament winner.
“Yes, hopefully we’ll present the trophy together in the final,” Infantino said. “That’s always been the plan, and that’s how it’s always been done in the past – the president of the country where the final is held presents the trophy together with the FIFA president.”
On Sunday, Spain defeated Leo Messi and Argentina 1-0 in the World Cup final.
After the game, Trump presented the trophy as planned, but continued to hang around the team during the celebration, and he had to be forced offstage so the team could celebrate their win. Trump ended up on the corner of the stage while the team took their celebration picture with the trophy.

An Australian broadcaster joked that the team would edit out Trump the photo.

After the game, Spain released their photo of the trophy celebration on social media, and Trump was indeed edited out of it.
