Spain World Cup Star Marc Cucurella Follows Up On Promise To Get Tattoo Of Manager’s Face

Spanish soccer star Marc Cucurella has followed through on his bold promise to get manager Luis De La Fuente’s face tattooed on him if the country won the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Cucurella, who starred as the starting left back for Spain, made the bold promise before the tournament even began.

“If we win the World Cup, I’ll get a tattoo of Luis de la Fuente’s face,” he said during an interview on Cadena COPE when asked about what he’d be willing to sacrifice to win the World Cup.

Sure enough, the reigning European champions did just that, winning the tournament for just the second time in their country’s storied soccer history.

Marc Cucurella Followed Through On His Tattoo Promise

After the final, Cucurella doubled down on the statement, although he did express some concerns.

“I don’t know yet. I have to think about where I’m going to get it,” Cucurella told Marca. “People will also ask me, so it doesn’t have to be in a visible place, but oh well. I think we have a long journey ahead of us now, I hope they give me ideas, I’ll think about it and then I’ll have to do it.”

Meanwhile, the 65-year-old manager did little to stop him.

“I’ve already told them they were wrong. And if you make a promise, you have to keep it. I’m not that ugly either,” he said.

Now, Cucurella has made good on his promise.

It’s uncertain where Cucurella had the tattoo done on his body, but given the picture he shared from the appointment, it appears it’s somewhere on his lower back and butt, which is a choice.

Ultimately, however, we have to respect his follow-through, and think we’d make the same bargain in exchange for winning the World Cup.
